Savatkada Waterfall
Located to the northwest, about 8 kilometres from Cherilyn Monta, is a popular tourist attraction in Konkan – Savatkada Waterfall. The best season to see the glorious waterfall is in monsoon as it is during monsoons that rivers are fully flowing, and mountains are conscious after a long period of sleep. Legend has it that this waterfall was formed as a result of a crater formation that lies at the base of it. Relish the magnificence of the sparkling water descending with a big roar. Ganpatipule Beach
One of the best places to visit in Konkan, Ganpatipule Beach is located 25 kilometers to the north of Ratnagiri and approximately 80 kilometers or one and a half-hour drive from the Cherilyn Monta Resort. The best time to visit this beach is during Winter which starts in late October and continues until mid-February. Etched on the cliff, just 20 kilometers from Ganpatipule, is the 17th -century Jaigad Fort. Stand atop the fort and enjoy the post-card picture-perfect view of the sea.
Ambolgad Beach
Tucked in one of the most beautiful places to visit in Konkan, Ambolgad beach is a perfect place for those who want to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. This beach is situated at a distance of 40 kilometres from Cherilyn Monta Resort. When at Ambolgad beach, enjoy uninterrupted the sunset framed by golden yellows, and fiery reds. Are Ware
Are Ware is a short drive, about 59 kilometres or one and a half hours drive from Cherilyn Monta Resort. It is believed that the beaches were formed following the submerging of a mountain into the sea. Two sides of the mountain that submerged into the sea were named Are-Ware. You are bound to be mesmerized by the timeless beauty and serenity of the environment. The unique characteristic that distinguishes this beach from other beaches is the water changes its colour at different intervals of the day. Visit this beach at noon, sit on a rock and enjoy the postcard-perfect scenery of the sea while sipping the fresh coconut water. It is among the best places to visit in Konkan.
Devgad Beach
Located on the Arabian Sea Coast, Devgad Beach is a well-known picnic spot in the Konkan region of Maharashtra. This beach has an ancient temple right on the edge of the coast. Mahakali Temple Adivare
Merely 3 kilometres from Kasheli’s Kanakaditya temple, Mahakali Temple in Adivare enshrines five Godes on its premises. This temple is among the best places to visit in Konkan. They are Shri Mahalakshmi, Shri Yogeshwari, Shri Mahasaraswati, Shri Rawalnat, and Shri Mahakali. The statue of Mahakali facing south is carved out of black stone. The Goddess is bathed with coconut milk every no moon and full moon day. This tradition is celebrated religiously in this temple.
Kunkeshwar Devgad
Kunkeshwar, about 16 kilometres from Devgad, is a village nestled in the lap of nature. Legend has it that the temple was built by a non-Hindu. As he was nearing the shore, a storm havoc wrecked his ship. There was a lamp on the beach and it was visible to the sailor. The sailor immediately prayed to God while looking at the lamp that he will build a temple on the beach if his ship sailed safely to the coast. The ship miraculously sailed to the shore in the subsequent moment and the sailor fulfilled his promise of building a temple right at the beach. This temple, situated to the south-west of Konkan, is approximately 73 kilometres from Cherilyn Monta Resort.
Thiba Palace
Belonging to the Bramhadesha’s King Thiba, The Thiba Palace is a famous attraction in Ratnagiri. For more than a decade, the legacy of Ratnagiri has been linked with Bramhadesh. For your information, Bramhadesh is today’s Myanmar. Being the last ruler of the region, King Thiba was defeated by the British Army. After 30 years of imprisonment, King Thiba breathed his last at the age of 58. Visit the Palace in Konkan to revisit the history of the region and the palace has a dancing floor built with marble.
